Thornford Parish Fête: Saturday 3 June from 2 – 5 pm.

To be held at the Village Hall and Playing Field. Attractions include a Silver Band, Fun Dog Show,theCastle Cary Majorettes, Teas, a Bouncy Castle, as well as Trade, Village and Food stalls. For more information contact Jim on 01935 873666.

 

Chetnole Cream Teas and Teddy Bear Parachuting off the tower (weather permitting): Sunday 4 June, 3.30-5.30pm. In the churchyard (hall if wet). Slowest descending teddy bear wins a prize: bring your bear and ‘chute marked with your name and the bear’s! £1 per jump, proceeds to the church.

 

Beer Hackett Village Tea Party: Sunday 11 June, 2 – 5.30pm. At St Michael’s Churchyard and Church. Free entry. Featuring a prize raffle, music from the Wriggle Valley Jazz band, children’s games, display of local memorabilia in church. Please bring food to share: tea, coffee and soft drinks provided. Old Vicarage Leigh, Vintage Tea Party: Saturday 17 June, from 2pm. Please join us for this 1950s vintage tea party and songs of praise to raise funds for the Benefice. With vintage displays, a raffle, dressing up and refreshments. £3 entry. Donations of cakes very much appreciated: please contact Jan Millward (01935 873 033).

Coffee after the service of Holy Communion at Ryme Intrinseca on Sunday 21 May will be held at Oatcroft, on the Ryme Road, by the kind invitation of Julia Nutt (David Fogden’s daughter). Hers is the first house on the right as one enters Yetminster from Ryme.

Events include live music in the church on Friday (into the evening) and a street fair on Saturday from 1.30, including   entertainment in the church. Further details on the Benefice website.
